Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as a strategic business partner to the executive leadership team and is responsible for leading the financial strategy, planning, and operations of WRS Health. This executive role oversees all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cash flow management, compliance, treasury, and risk management. The CFO will drive data-informed decision-making, optimize financial performance, support scalable growth initiatives, and ensure the organization maintains strong financial health in a rapidly evolving healthcare technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute the company's financial strategy to support long-term growth, profitability, and strategic objectives.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
- Provide financial modeling, scenario analysis, and strategic recommendations to support executive decision-making, investments, pricing strategies, and growth initiatives.
- Analyze financial and operational performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger management, month-end close, consolidations, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting across multiple entities.
- Ensure the timely preparation and presentation of accurate financial statements, management reports, and board-level reporting.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls, financial policies, and accounting procedures in accordance with GAAP.
- Coordinate annual audits and manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
Treasury, Cash Flow & Risk Management
- Monitor and manage cash flow, liquidity, working capital, and capital allocation to support operational and strategic needs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with banks, lenders, investors, and other financial institutions.
- Lead capital planning activities and support financing, fundraising, and M&A initiatives as required.
- Oversee corporate insurance programs and enterprise financial risk management activities.
Compliance & Tax
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, tax, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Partner with external tax professionals on tax filings, K-1s, depreciation schedules, and other tax-related matters.
- Advise executive leadership on financial, tax, and regulatory risks impacting the business.
Technology, Data & Business Intelligence
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of the finance technology stack, including ERP/general ledger systems, CRM invoicing platforms, and business intelligence tools.
- Oversee configuration and integration of platforms such as QuickBooks, HubSpot or Salesforce, and BI solutions including Tableau, Power BI, Amazon QuickSight, or similar technologies.
- Drive the use of AI automation and data analytics to improve financial processes, operational efficiency, and decision-making.
- Develop executive dashboards and KPI reporting by integrating data from multiple business systems.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Build, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting organization.
- Partner closely with executive and departmental leaders to improve operational performance and support company initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required; MBA strongly preferred.
- CPA or other advanced financial credential strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience, including executive-level responsibility.
- Demonstrated success leading financial operations in SaaS, healthcare technology, or high-growth technology organizations preferred.
- Extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, audit processes, tax regulations, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing multi-entity accounting environments and consolidations.
- Hands-on experience implementing and configuring finance technology platforms, including general ledger systems, CRM-based invoicing solutions, and business intelligence tools.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar ERP/accounting platforms.
- Experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, or comparable CRM systems, particularly for invoicing and revenue visibility.
- Expertise in business intelligence platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Amazon QuickSight, or Apache Superset, including dashboard development and multi-source data integration.
- Experience leveraging AI automation and emerging technologies to improve financial operations.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and data visualization capabilities.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence executive stakeholders and board members.
- M&A, fundraising, or capital raising experience is a plus.
Success Metrics
- Achievement of budget, cash flow, profitability, and financial performance targets.
- Accurate forecasting performance, with variance maintained within agreed thresholds.
- Delivery of strategic financial insights that support revenue growth, operational efficiency, and scalable business expansion.
- Successful implementation and optimization of finance systems, BI platforms, and automation initiatives.
- Improved visibility into financial and operational KPIs through executive dashboards and reporting.
- Full compliance with all regulatory, tax, audit, and reporting requirements with no significant findings.
- Strengthened cash position, working capital efficiency, and financial controls.
